Those of you who have visited before May 13 may be surprised to see that some of the information about our academic program has been stripped out of this Web site. That is because there have been legal glitches in working out the appropriate wording to use in referring to the nature of the arrangement with the university in question. Nothing substantive has changed -- in fact, our program continues to snowball, with new options opening up every week. If you are interested in possibly enrolling in the accredited version of this program (as opposed to Bridges Open Enrollment), or are just curious about it, contact us at bridgesprtd@gmail.com or sicroff@gmail.com and we'll put you in touch with the program coordinator and/or the chair of the department.

What's the connection between sport and development? One important connection, at least in Nepal, is the astonishing number of people who go there to trek or climb mountains and end up spending their life helping out. Sir Edmund Hillary did it. Tony Freake, winner of last year's Sir Edmund Hillary Mountain Legacy Medal, did it. Maggie Doyne was traveling around Asia after graduating from high school until she did a trek in Nepal... and she never returned. Instead, Maggie used her life savings to buy land and build the Kopila Valley Children's Home. It's worth considering: you may sign up for a four-month program and end up with a life and a career completely different from what you envisioned!

We apologize for the delay in updating the application page. For the time being, you may apply by email.
