This paper will focus on ACAP's participatory conservation model with reference to ecotourism in the Annapurna Circuit. Lessons learnt and emergent issues from the ACAP experience will be presented. Abstract II: Resource Management in the Resource-Scarce Environment. My second paper will deal with the status of natural resources in the resource scarce environment with reference from Mustang. The paper will also highlight some of the coping strategies adopted by the local communities.
